Father's Day

With permission of stock.xchng
 Dear friends.
What an amazing day! Father's day a day that is not to be taken lightly. Whether you have a great dad or not, he is and always will be your dad in essence.
My dad seemed like he was always gone when I was little. Although I hardly spent time with him, I jealously guard my time with him. He is my dad. I love him dearly.
I can't imagine life without him. He is kind and very caring. We have had  our disagreements, and still don't see eye to eye. Most likely there will be some things that we will never, but that is alright. As long as I give him respect and obey him, then it is perfectly fine to disagree. It is when I harden my heart and make the choice to bull headily unrespect him that I error. My dad is great.
He sacrifices a lot so that we can have food on our plates, a roof over our head, and give us some comforts. God has blessed him with the ability to do so. He's there for me and I respect that...a lot.

Even if I do not spend quality time with him often as I would like, he has helped me grow up. Fathers play an important role iand most of the time sadly they go unrecognized more unrecognized then mothers. Their impacts while just as important as the mothers, are greatly, greatly felt whether good or bad. Fathers in a sense hold the burden of family on his shoulders. It is father's that is responsible for the spiritual, emotional, and physical welfare of his family as well as himself.

So here's to Dads around the world:
Happy Father's Day! May you be richly blessed.

Waiting

Sometime waiting for dreams to come true isn't fun. But still I must wait...and I long to be truly patience and enjoy this season I'm in. Funny, I enjoy my life and yet I want something more. Which is precisely why when I am intensely dissatisfied I dive into spending with my dear Beloved and making my relationship deep with him. Today has been one of those intensely unfavorable day and so guess where I have been trying to keep a good outlook on my unblissful day in my usual blissful life...that's right. Spending time with Him. My day might have been a wreck or to others more like series of small bumps, but it is still a very good day.

The Death of Osama Bin Laden

Here is a popular topic:
The Death of Osama Bin Laden.

When  I first heard the news, I felt punched in the stomach. My heart hurt. But at the same time I rejoiced. An evil man is dead and justice served. Perhaps our men and women are one step closer to finishing off the war. Yet, I am sadden by the news.
It is most likely safe to say that he rejected Christ no matter how much I wish it the opposite. I am sad because he will be forever be in Hell. There is no other chances for him. Satan had him wrapped around his little finger and used him as a puppet until he was useless.
Such a man as he was, he needed to die. He was destroying far more than just our lives. Justice had to be served and action correctly so was taken. Having said all this, I rejoice at the fact that the terrorist is dead, but sad that he will NEVER rest in peace, but live in burning fire as he gnash his teeth.
I end this post being thankful that such a man no longer roams this earth, but sadden as well.

Broms

Brom's Logo
You can not go to Oklahoma without visiting my sister's favorite ice cream place, Broms. Oklahoma is starting to branch out.  but it has always been a tradition to stop by broms for icecream. Needless to say we had a very happy Kate when we went twice in the four days we've been here. My first icecream I got my usual chocolate chip cookie dough and then tried the reeses cup icecream cone. Oddly enough I didn't finish it nor relished my usual favorite. Today I got Coffee Chocolate Choc and chocolate chip icecream and finished it completely satified. A perfect combination of icecream in a cone. Pictures are to come soon as I can turn my raw photos into jpegs.

Oklahoma

What a trip it has been. One that has been taxing and yet rewarding at the same time. We left yesterday about 6:47 and did not arrive at Granddad's home until 1 in the morning. As my eldest sister we happily tried to catch up, and my bed was in the middle of the family room I didn't go to sleep until 3 since the majority of the family was still up at 2. The night before because we had to be fully packed, I did not go to sleep in two in the morning. I had my room cleaned and bathroom that same night.
Today  has been very intresting as we have not seen family members aside from Granddad in nearly three years or more. But it has so far been proven a good visit. After a trip to Wal-mart, we went to the festivals. Oh, how I wished I had my camera, but settled instead for my phone camera. There was art that I believed that a good friend would have been inspired to paint and I drummed up ideas for his and his wife's business. Excitment grew within me and I am eager to see if there are any such places in Knoxville. But that is not where I longed for my camera. There were so many interesting people, kids with smiling faces, adult wearing cowboots. Many of the women that I saw wore dresses exactly my type of town. Old places were used in the orginal styles but upgraded somewhat to mordern inides...well almost. There was this one barbar shop that was completely so in what perhaps the 50's 60's. Perfect for photography.

The only pictures I took was for my dear Pastor Wife. My sister and I ducked into a great store full of antique things, from phones to funiture and to my personal favorties glass doorknobs and suitcases. But there they were, old fashions caged birdhouses.  She has longed for an beautiful wired bird cage. I found two. If I had money to buy and a place in my luggage I would have brought it for her. She has a knack for fixing beautiful old things and turing them into works of art and this would have worked for her birds. I considered the smaller one, but I knew it wasn't the right one. So I did what I had to work with...I took pictures with my phone. Here's three snap shots of them.

Then my attenion was caught on a highchair for babys.  I thought of Hannah who's running her own business and starting to thrive. There wouldn't have been much to do, but I could see her sewing for that darling a chair. It would have fetched a pretty darn high price. But alse...the chair was expenisve...and I definatly could not put in in my small suitcase. It was neat to know that what she was selling was high end quality that you were getting at a very good bargan.
I thought of my "cowgirl's" friends and how they would have found a piece of a haven. Pure leather boots, and vests. It would have been my mama's store. What stopped me from buying boots that I have been wanting these three years? I am a poor college getting ready to put her dreams in reality with little money in the bank. Owning a pair of boots is a small wishlist along with a cowgirl's hat, I am getting ready to make my dream into reality. Plus even if I wasn't getting ready to plug into the half scared of my life ride dream come true, the boots cost nearly $200. Gulp. No...I'll wait until that moment I find "the" boots and money in my hands or until God plops them in my lap which ever comes first.

There's so much more to write. But it is a celebration for Granddad's birthday and I aught to visit more. Perhaps more will come will tomorrow's news especially if we go to the best icecream place in the world...Broms.

Oh down to busniess

Amazing how times flies. Hmmm...strike that, amazing how I let time slip by. True it seems as if life slips by in a flash, but part of it is where do we spend our time.

Of late I have been reading...oh for the love of reading. I feel like my old self when I was 10 years old. Out going, loud, not quite getting the hang of when to tell the blunt truth, always getting underfoot, asking a million questions, getting to scraps because of climbing trees or better yet climbing fences...yada yada. The point that I am trying to make or is there a point. I forget sometimes. College does that to me. Oh yes. I have been reading a very good book actually several books and blogs particularly those I can glean from stories of their life.

One of the books is Black by Ted Deckker. I have only made it to chapter 5 in oh three days. Believe it or not I just set my world record for the slowest reading I have ever down. My aim? To make it last until the of the next to last week of April. I want to savor this...as I am having trouble finding good pleasant books to read. But this is not the book that is changing my life in a steady way...

No the book I really want to talk about is the book of Ordering my Private world by Gorden MacDonald. It is slow read, because I want to get it. My life has been in shambles far too long. I want to live life and not have it pass by. My body, mind, and spirit has been exhausted far too long and I want to know why. One of keys are ordering my private world. I know you expected me to say get my relationship right with Christ right? True and I agree with that 100 percent. But how can you fully and completely enjoy his companionship if you are not willing to enjoy getting the nitty gritty yucky cleaning out my skeleton closet with Him. Hint: that's another key. Being able to let Him do things with you. If my private life is not in order then how can my outside life be? I have started making a list. Some of you are probably saying a list...who needs another list? While the rest of you are eagerly leaning foreword.  Here's my list
I go by what needs to be done during the week without time slots...just basic mandatory things. Often it goes like this:

Cleaning the bathroom,
cleaning my room
clean out the car
wash car
crochet
draw
do photography
read Black, Esther, Bible, Ordering my Private Life
Help mom
Work out
Clean the kitchen
Freedom Feet (Drama class)
Children's church
Multi-media
Spend time with God
Go outside and breathe
and so on

I have a bunch more on this list...but this is a start. Some I won't get to...some I have to get to. Then I go to my schedule book and schedule in times around my classes and meetings the things I have down. Usually I make my list on scrap pieces of paper.

Other than the list I have also started scheduling bed times. In bed at 10 lights out at 10:30 or closely there after or beforehand. I will start waking at 6:30. My body needed sleep and a strict sleeper schedule. I have found when I do this as closely as I can, I have bountiful of energy. Now...on saturday nights or special nights am I going to be like sorry I have to go to bed...most likely not. I love people and being with them. But during the course of the week...you bet'cha, I am going to be reading or doing something pleasant to wind down to stay on task.
Another thing is cutting down my sweets. By allowing myself to have sweets on weekends, I am less likely to eat during the week, or only in small quantities.  I drink more water. Soon I will start exercising more, but haven't really started that yet. Plus taking my vitamins is a great help.
As for my spiritual life, I am really cutting down watching net flick. You think how does that help? Truth be told when you are watching almost every night an hour or half hour you get weary in the spirit and it's not healthy for you. I got dog bone weary. I love being active, working with my hands. Painting, drawing, sewing, just in general crafts fill up my spirit and emotion.

The point I am trying to make is I am tired of being weary. I want to live and not only do I want to live but I want to live to the fullest that I can. So I am taking actions...let's see how I can keep on.

Spring is coming

I have been starting to think of spring. Robins have been gracing our yard with their bright feathers and joyful chirps. So I thought I'd give a try to photograph a bird. When i saw the picture I immediately thought of Songs of Solomon 2:11~12
