Oklahoma

What a trip it has been. One that has been taxing and yet rewarding at the same time. We left yesterday about 6:47 and did not arrive at Granddad's home until 1 in the morning. As my eldest sister we happily tried to catch up, and my bed was in the middle of the family room I didn't go to sleep until 3 since the majority of the family was still up at 2. The night before because we had to be fully packed, I did not go to sleep in two in the morning. I had my room cleaned and bathroom that same night.
Today  has been very intresting as we have not seen family members aside from Granddad in nearly three years or more. But it has so far been proven a good visit. After a trip to Wal-mart, we went to the festivals. Oh, how I wished I had my camera, but settled instead for my phone camera. There was art that I believed that a good friend would have been inspired to paint and I drummed up ideas for his and his wife's business. Excitment grew within me and I am eager to see if there are any such places in Knoxville. But that is not where I longed for my camera. There were so many interesting people, kids with smiling faces, adult wearing cowboots. Many of the women that I saw wore dresses exactly my type of town. Old places were used in the orginal styles but upgraded somewhat to mordern inides...well almost. There was this one barbar shop that was completely so in what perhaps the 50's 60's. Perfect for photography.

The only pictures I took was for my dear Pastor Wife. My sister and I ducked into a great store full of antique things, from phones to funiture and to my personal favorties glass doorknobs and suitcases. But there they were, old fashions caged birdhouses.  She has longed for an beautiful wired bird cage. I found two. If I had money to buy and a place in my luggage I would have brought it for her. She has a knack for fixing beautiful old things and turing them into works of art and this would have worked for her birds. I considered the smaller one, but I knew it wasn't the right one. So I did what I had to work with...I took pictures with my phone. Here's three snap shots of them.

Then my attenion was caught on a highchair for babys.  I thought of Hannah who's running her own business and starting to thrive. There wouldn't have been much to do, but I could see her sewing for that darling a chair. It would have fetched a pretty darn high price. But alse...the chair was expenisve...and I definatly could not put in in my small suitcase. It was neat to know that what she was selling was high end quality that you were getting at a very good bargan.
I thought of my "cowgirl's" friends and how they would have found a piece of a haven. Pure leather boots, and vests. It would have been my mama's store. What stopped me from buying boots that I have been wanting these three years? I am a poor college getting ready to put her dreams in reality with little money in the bank. Owning a pair of boots is a small wishlist along with a cowgirl's hat, I am getting ready to make my dream into reality. Plus even if I wasn't getting ready to plug into the half scared of my life ride dream come true, the boots cost nearly $200. Gulp. No...I'll wait until that moment I find "the" boots and money in my hands or until God plops them in my lap which ever comes first.

There's so much more to write. But it is a celebration for Granddad's birthday and I aught to visit more. Perhaps more will come will tomorrow's news especially if we go to the best icecream place in the world...Broms.
